Visiting the CollegeHuman Ecology is a thriving intellectual community in a beautiful, natural setting. We invite you to visit to fully appreciate the possibilities the college offers. See a campus bounded by gorges, with nature preserves, a lake, and six waterfalls within walking distance – and experience at what the brochures can only hint. A campus visit and attendance at a Human Ecology Information Session will help you determine if Cornell University and the College of Human Ecology is a good match for you and your academic and personal goals. Also, we have found that applicants who attended a Human Ecology session are often able to more clearly articulate their interest in our programs, which is an important part of the application process. Human Ecology Information Sessions are geared towards the first-year application process. Our admissions counselors discuss the mission of the college, its programs and opportunities, how Human Ecology fits within the context of Cornell University and the world, and the admissions and selection process in depth. Current students are often available at these sessions during fall semester. Personal interviews are not offered to prospective first-year applicants. Our Admissions Counselors expect visitors to participate in the sessions. Counselors ask visitors about their current academic interests, how they spend their time outside the classroom and what brought them to the College. Please be prepared to share a bit about yourself. This information allows our Counselors to focus the session on the interests of the group. Past information session guests have also commented how inspiring it is to learn about fellow group members. Our 2009 information session schedule is as follows.
